We are extremely excited to finally be able to open our doors on September 2nd. Our team has been working hard to prepare for everyone’s return. 

With that said, everyone should expect a few changes as New York State and Otsego County have outlined multiple guidelines associated with the reopening of gyms. There is a lot of important information outlined below.  Please take time to read everything as it is extremely important for you to understand.  


Masks are required at all times

  • Masks must be worn properly at all times; covering your mouth and nose

  • ***Buffs, bandanas, and neck gaiters are not acceptable masks per NYS guidelines***

  • You may lower your mask to eat or drink.

Screening protocol upon entry:

  • Members will be expected to complete a screening process each time they enter the facility. Each member must be able to answer NO to the following 4 questions:

           During the past 14 days have you…

  1. TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

  2. KNOWINGLY BEEN IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

  3. EXPERIENCED SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19

    1. (COUGHING, FEVER, SHORTNESS OF BREATH)

  4. TRAVELED WITHIN A STATE WITH SIGNIFICANT COMMUNITY SPREAD OF COVID-19 FOR LONGER THAN 24 HOURS

  • Members are then required to check-in with their barcode key tag. This is a Department of Health guideline and mandatory upon each visit, no exceptions.

  • TRF Staff, independent contractors, and independent personal trainers must follow the same protocol upon entry along with additional steps including temperature checks, oximeter readings, and the completion of a check-in questionnaire.

Contact information / Waivers:

  • Members must verify and/or update their contact information with our staff in order to meet Department of Health (DoH) contact tracing guidelines.

  • Members are also required to sign an additional waiver and club policy agreement prior to utilizing the facility.

  • Members will not be allowed to utilize the facility until both of the above steps have been completed.

Distancing requirements:

  • A distance of 6 feet must be maintained at all times while in the facility

  • Signage has been posted throughout the facility to remind members of protocol.

  • Every other cardio machine is blocked off to help maintain 6 feet of distance.

  • Universal equipment is spaced to maintain 6 feet of distancing.

  • Markings and/or signage are on the floor indicating 6 feet of space for other situations.

Capacity:

  • All gyms must operate at the lesser value; 33% capacity or the maximum gathering size for the region

  • This currently limits us to 50 members at a time as our capacity at 33% is greater than the region’s current allowable gathering size

  • We DO NOT anticipate this to be a problem at this point in time

  • As a courtesy to others, please plan your workout ahead of time ensuring others will have access to the facility.

Amenities:

  • Showers WILL NOT be available for use

  • Bathrooms will be shut down periodically throughout the day for cleaning.

  • The drinking fountain will not be available for use; however, the water bottle refill station will be available.

  • Common areas will be off limits.

    • Members can no longer bring their children or other family members to wait for them while they workout

  

Additional items we have added/updated:

  • MERV13 Air filters are currently installed in our air handlers.

  • We will be installing an airPhx system that continuously disinfects the air and surfaces in our facility.

  • NanoSeptic sleeves have been installed on our entrance and exit handles.

    • These are continuously self-cleaning surfaces

  • An additional station for paper towels, disinfectant, and trash has been added in the back of the gym.

  • Double the amount of spray bottles  As always, members are required to wipe down all equipment and accessories after each use.

  • Hand sanitizer is available

  • Touch-less faucets have been installed in the locker rooms

  • While our cleaning and disinfecting protocol has always been in compliance with CDC recommendations, we are implementing a more rigorous schedule of wiping down surfaces. *Please be prepared for the front desk to be shut down from time to time.

Staffing:

  • We have doubled our staffed hours in order to comply with the current guidelines

  • Initial hours 

    • 5am-9pm on weekdays

    • 7am-1pm on weekends

  • Access will not be permitted outside of staffed hours.

Compliance: 

  • Failure to comply with club protocol and guidelines will result in the termination of your membership.

Please know that our number one priority is keeping our members and our staff safe.  This requires all of us to do our part. Failure to comply with club protocol and guidelines not only risks the safety of our members and staff, it also poses a risk to our business.  Please keep this in mind as you use the facility.
